Rainbow Bridge

July 9 2008 – July 16th 2015

Just this side of heaven is a place called the Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to the Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food and water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals that have been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing – they miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when they stop and suddenly look into the distance. All eyes are bright and intent, bodies begin to quiver and suddenly one begins to run from the group…. flying over the green grass… faster and faster.

YOU have been spotted. And when you and your special friend meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. Happy kisses rain upon your face. Your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then together, you and your beloved pet cross the Rainbow Bridge.

This past weekend was a much needed get away to Whistler. A bunch of us ladies took a long awaited trip out of town for a stagette. I can’t speak for them, but I had a great time. Nothing too rowdy. We did zipling, walked the village, and cooked/drank wine in a cute little town house we rented.

Before heading back to the city, we grabbed lunch at Araxi. I was a little disappointed to be honest. And I’m not even a brunch foodie! Perhaps my expectations were high, but I won’t be going back for brunch. Service and ambience was great though!

2013

Hello again.

It’s a New Year, and with that comes extra effort to keep those resolutions I’ve been thinking about all year ’round. I heard that writing down goals helps to achieve them, so here goes.

  • Capture memories.
    I received a nifty little Canon G15 for Christmas to help capture new 2013 memories.
  • Get healthy
    Exercising, eating right, sleeping properly. I think it has been a few years since I have exercised regularly. I joined She’s Fit and am hoping I can get into it. It’s not an issue of looking good anymore, but it’s about being healthy for me. My health these past few months have gone down and I’m not sure why. I’m in the midst of a having frequent stomach pains. Either way, I need to get things figured out and have a healthy lifestyle. I think I’m getting too old for junk food!
  • Learn more about tea.
    If you know me in real life, you know I love my tea. I can’t resist stepping into tea shops to try new teas. This year I want to learn more about the origin of different teas.
  • Have a japadog.
  • Watch more documentaries.
    Netflix, are you ready for me?
  • Watch the movies on IMDB top 250.
  • Read 6 books in 2013.
  • Cook dinner on Mondays.
    Contribute to the family by cooking dinner on Mondays. It’ll give me an opportunity to try out some of the yummy recipes I’ve been seeing on pinterest.
  • Clothes clean up.
    This is my goal every weekend, yet somehow it always slips away. I need more self discipline. The issue is that I have clothes in my closet, on my clothing rack, in my drawer, under my bed, and in two clothing hampers. All of which are clean. But I need to clean out my clothes and get rid of the ones I don’t wear anymore.
  • Travel to one place I haven’t been before.
  • Figure out a financial budget and stick with it!

Inspiration

In the midst of everything that goes on in life, it’s easy to lose sight of inspiration. Here are some things that remind me to stay on track and keep striving to achieve my goals.

The last few pictures are glimpses of behind the scenes on tv/movie sets. I graduated from a tv broadcast program a few months ago and have been struggling to find what I want to do. I like feature films and scripted tv, however it seems hard to a position related to that department. Although it’s hard, I’m trying not to give up. It’s really easy to just take a job not related to my industry and be able to pay off my loans, but I’m holding out for the right thing. Until then, I guess I’ll keep knocking on doors, eventually one will open up right?
